Executive Board

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Marko Boger is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gentleware AG. Marko Boger was born on May 23, 1969 in Germany. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Hamburg University and studied Computer Science at the University of Karlsruhe (Germany) and the University of Toulouse (France). His post-graduate research work initially began at the University RWTH Aachen and his PhD was completed in Hamburg. He is author of the book "Java in verteilten Systemen" (English translation: "Java in Distributed Systems").

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Carsten Robitzki is the head of the business unit b+m engineering and member of the board of directors of Gentleware. He joined b+m in 1997 and was instrumental in the growth of the company from 20 employees to the current size of about 250 today. Carsten graduated with honors in business information technology in 1997 at the University of Applied Science of Flensburg, Germany, and ist author of publications and regular speaker on a variety of conferences. In his professional career he filled many roles of software engineering such as software architect, requirements engineer, or enterprise architect and built up a very broad knowledge in software engineering. Today he is responsible for project management of big software development projects and IT-Consulting in well known companies of the financial and automotive sector and is continuously taking over a management role in the b+m group.

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors

Jochen Meyer earned a degree in information-science and technology from the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel, Germany, and has several years of experience in project management and business development for high-tech companies.

Between 1995 and 1998, Mr. Meyer worked as a software developer at the Kiel plant of the Pfizer company, leader in the worldwide medical device market. Since the beginning of 1998, Mr. Meyer has worked as a project leader and account manager at b+m Informatik AG.

Since 2001, he is also employed as a lecturer in "modern industrial methods of software engineering" at the University of Applied Sciences in Kiel. Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Meyer worked for the "Vater Group" and took the advantage of having a start-up with "Vater Solution", a new business unit in software development.

Since 2006, after having succeeded, Mr Meyer is now director of business development and again in charge of b+m Informatik AG. His responsibilities include the selection and development of strategic partnerships and he is heading the core business sales activities.

Board of Directors Member

Matthias Grychta is a Managing Partner of the Hamburg-based venture capital group Neuhaus Partners. Matthias studied electrical engineering in Hamburg and has been active in the field of information and communication technology since the early 80's.

He started working at the Dr. Neuhaus Group in 1984 - for which he also worked a year in the Far East - and was finally the managing director of the Group's software and system company. From 1996 to 1998, Matthias led the telecommunications division in a major German consulting company. He has been with Neuhaus Partners since the beginning of 1999. As a managing partner, Matthias is responsible for the selection and support of portfolio companies in the eCommerce, internet, data communications and software sectors. Matthias is a member of supervisory boards of several portfolio companies and has already been part of several successful exits.

Advisory Board

Dr. Bernhard Dieter Rumpe is director of the Advisory Board of the Gentleware AG.

Bernhard Dieter Rumpe was born on June 22, 1967. He studied Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich and received a PhD degree. He is now assistant professor of Computer Science in Munich with an emphasis on software engineering and modeling.

Dr. Richard Mark Soley is Chairman and CEO of the Object Management Group (OMG). He has been CEO since 1997 and is defining the vision and direction of the consortium. Dr. Soley was instrumental in OMG’s adoption of both CORBA and UML, and in the creation of the Model Driven Architecture (MDA) in 2000.

Before joining OMG, Dr. Soley was a successful entrepreneur and executive companies including Gold Hill Computers, Symbolics, PictureTel and others, and was the cofounder and Chairman/CEO of A. I. Architects, Inc., maker of the first Intel 386 product, the 386 HummingBoard.

Thorsten Dittmar is founder and CEO of Daedalos International.

Daedalos is a German company offering consulting and training in the field of object-oriented software development to large European and international customers.

David A. Thomas is founder of the Object Technology International (Development of Visual Age) and founder and manager of Bedarra Corp. He participates in various program commitees.

Former Member of Advisory Board

Prof. Mario Jeckle was a Member of our Advisory Board. On June 11, 2004 he lost his life in a car accident. He was hit by a car when he tried to help others. Mario has been cooperating with us for more than four years and has always been more than a valuable consultant. He became a true friend. We admired his UML-expertise and the commitment he showed with all his projects.

Mario Jeckle was Professor at the University of Applied Sciences at Furthwangen, Germany. He was research fellow and chief scientist at DaimlerChrysler in the research labs in Ulm, Germany. For DaimlerChrysler, he was representative for standardisation activities in data modeling and object-oriented modeling, especially with the Unified Modeling Language (UML), metamodeling, eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). He was also a main contributor to the UML 2.0 Diagram Interchange. He was co-author of the XMI standard and main author of the successful German book "UML 2 glasklar".
